She did AMAZING!…

She ran it in 30:03. A new personal best. 5k and she ran the whole way! Congratulations sweetheart, you did it!

Traci is pretty nervous at the start line. It is “hurry up and WAIT” at the start line before the race.

Mothers Day, for my Mom…

We had supper over at our house for Mothers Day, for my Mom as tomorrow is a busy race day and Andrew wants to spend the day with his mommy. G&G came over and were able to play with Andrew out in the yard, before a rain shower hit. Traci and I made Lasagna and Nicki brought over a salad and fancy garlic bread. It was nice and relaxing for the most part, and Andrew put on a funny show as usual. He just laughed and laughed all night. He did go to bed an hour early. There was no way he was staying up until his normal bedtime tonight.

Andrew helps everyone open presents. He seems to know they aren’t for him, he just likes opening them.IMG_4020

He really likes cards too. Ever since he was about 10 months old, he looks like he takes great interest in them and reads them from start to finish. I don’t even do that. hehe.IMG_4024

We are all STUFFED, then we ate some fantastic pineapple upside down cake, so….MORE STUFFED, hooooooweee.IMG_4027

Nicki had a hoot with her Nephew. The chair she is sitting in is actually Andrews, and it is sized for him. but Nicki took it for the evening.IMG_4029

He was REALLY tired. He took his pillow and blanket into his BALL PIT and got cozied up for sleep. We figured he could use an earlier bedtime once we saw this.IMG_4032

Mothers Day Race - Package Pickup…

Traci and my mom are running in the Forzani’s Mothers Day run and walk. They are both running in the 5K race, and both will do well. I’m not sure how much training Mom has completed, I do know she has been going out recently. Traci has been running 3 days a week and has a PB of 32:07 for a 5k Training run.

Yesterday we went to Mount Royal College to the Fitness Fair and Race Package pickup. This is where you pick up your Bib and Timing Chip. They also have all sorts of vendors and information booths set up to try and sell you stuff and services related to running. Traci didn’t buy anything, but I got 2 new technical shirts and 2 pairs of fitted socks.

So Andrew, Traci, Me, Grampa and Gramma pile in the truck and down to the fitness fair we go! Here is G&G and Andrew hand in hand. Andrew has his Thomas the Tank Engine hat on. He likes it a lot. It was only a week and a half ago he wouldn’t wear a hat. boy is he growing up fast.

I think the get like 10,000 runners, so it is pretty amazing that they are as organized as well as they are. Good job volunteers.IMG_3984

Gramma gets her race bibIMG_3990

Traci gets her race bib. Watch out for #6437, she’ll elbow you if you get in her way!IMG_3986

Andrew needed a sit down after all that Fitness Exercise. Wooowooo.IMG_3994

Andrew REALLY loves Rizzo…

… and Rizzo love Andrew. To a fault. She lays there and takes ALL of his S**t and abuse. She will NOT move, no matter what he does. He can lay on her, smack her with his little hammer, pull her hair, poke her in the eye... whatever…

We actually yell at Rizzo to run, run for her life, but she won’t. So today I look into the living room and am quite pleased to see this… CIMG5967

oh bananas…

… It’s kind of the husband code. When you think you are doing something good, it’s actually not good.

I tidied the kitchen up. It was that simple. Then Traci and Andrew came home and Traci was talking quite excitedly about using a recipe of my Granni’s. She said it would turn out better than last time. My husband alarm sort of went off, but I was hoping she was thinking about baking something else. I thought to myself for a minute before I asked “what are you going to bake?” she says “banana bread”

Um. oh shoot… “I threw away the bananas”

Well, that is pretty much it for me tonight, I will be trying to make it up for the evening, while trying to avoid the ol’ stink eye. I wonder if it’s worth the effort to try to do good some days. We are just not engineered to make those sort of decisions, I guess.
